Bridges Australia was born from two powerful ideas that crossed my path at very different moments, yet carried the same truth at their core.

The first came from Dr. Jenn McIntosh, who teaches that even through separation, parents can build a stable bridge for their children — a bridge strong enough to hold safety, connection, and emotional stability. Families have an incredible capacity to raise resilient children when they are supported, informed, and empowered.

The second inspiration came from a story in Brazil, where the communities of Nova Roma do Sul and Farroupilha lost the bridge that connected their towns. After being told it would take more than a year and millions of dollars to rebuild, the locals decided to take action themselves. Through raffles, donations, and collective effort, they raised the funds and rebuilt the bridge with excellence, care, and unity.

These two stories — one about families, one about communities — carry the same message:
